I fell in love with this Alpaca fiber as soon as I laid eyes on it! What a gorgeous dark chocolate color, and all natural too! No dyes needed here!
I purchased this fiber raw and spun it into a super bulky 3 ply (using the Navajo ply technique) on my Kromski Polonaise spinning wheel. The yarn has been washed thoroughly and it's soft enough to add to your against the skin projects!
Alpaca are an amazing animal. They are part of the camelid family and although very similar, are not the same as llamas. And boy, oh boy are they soft! I have even considered adding one or two to my own flock of furry fiber friends some day! The last image is just an example of an alpaca.These are not the exact alpacas from which this yarn was made.
This skein of yarn is 25 yards and is super bulky at 5 wraps per inch.
